Christmas at the Beach

Gulf Place, Hope Lutheran Church and Point Washington United Methodist Churchhave joined together to host the second annual Christmas at the Beach onDecember 3, 2016 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. 

The Christmas event is set to include a lot of FREE activities for everyone to enjoy. Parents can relax knowing that all the Christmas workshops, children’s games, music performances, pictures with Santa Claus and Lighting of the Gulf Place Christmas tree are completely FREE.

As 30A’s funkiest neighborhood with locally owned boutiques, shops, and a variety of restaurants, we are encouraging you all to #shopsmall and #shoplocal. We will have a number of artists, handmade crafts, local vendors and discounts throughout Gulf Place boutiques.

Gulf Place on 30A is pleased to announce two new merchants have joined the town center. Modus Photography and the Deep South Market are now open.

Pronounced Mo-dus, the brainchild of Freeport, Florida, native and self-taught photographer Chandler WilliamsModus Photography is a creative team specializing in capturing what the average eye doesn't see.

From creatively capturing the lifestyle of 30A to hiking off the grid in Latin America, Modus is there. Chandler and his team have an extensive portfolio with work ranging from travel/documentary to commercial and family portraits. Modus Photography’s now second location is nestled in the shared space with Sunrise Coffee Co. at the corner of County Road 393 and County Highway 30A. The gallery is open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The husband and wife duo behind The Perfect Pig and Preacher’s Kitchen at Gulf Place, Jeff and Vickie Miller, have introduced the Deep South Market to South Walton. The Deep South Market, which celebrated its Grand Opening on October 8, 2016, is the restaurant veteran’s dream combination of delicatessen and boutique gift shop.

Along with the opening of The Deep South Market, The Perfect Pig recently updated their bar to include more space, which flows effortless into the market.

Kick off the holiday festivities with the Artists at Gulf PlaceAnnual Holiday Open House on November 25 & 2610 a.m. - 5 p.m.! The artists will be hosting their holiday workshops and kids will be decorating the Gulf Place holiday tree with their own crafty ornaments! SANTA will swing in on Saturdaymorning to empty his mailbox, and to hang with the kids from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.!

Witches of South Walton 2016 Witch Ride Announced to Benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network

Santa Rosa Beach, FL – The Witches of South Walton, an organization dedicated to supporting the Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) is hosting The 13th Annual Witch Ride on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 6:30am. Ticket cost is $30 and includes a charity bike ride from Gulf Place to Stinky’s Fish Camp complete with a Gathering Brunch at La Playa. Tickets can be purchased online at www.witchride.com. This event would not be possible without the help of local residents and businesses. A special thanks to sponsors that include Modus Photography, Classic Luxury Real Estate, Pizza by the Sea, YOLO and The Merchants at Gulf Place.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Thursday, October 27th

WITCHES BREW  | La Playa at Gulf Place

Pre-registered packet pickup and in-person registration at La Playa in Gulf Place from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Drink specials will be offered for all participants and Forrest Williams Band will play live. Raffle tickets will be sold only at Witches Brew to win a Custom Designed Witch Hat. Must be present to win at 8:00pm.

Saturday October 29th

HALLOWEEN MASQUERADE PARTY  | Trebeaché at Red Fish Village

Trebeaché and Grayton Beach Catering are hosting the Halloween Masquerade Party with 10% of the ticket sales being donated to CVHN in the name of the Witches of South Walton. The event will feature music by Randall Bramblett Band, The Steenos with Franko Washboard Jackson. There is also a costume contest with prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $50.00 or at the door for $60.00.

Monday October 31st

WAKE UP WITCHES  | The Green at Gulf Place

We are happy to report that New Channel 7, Paris Janos will be reporting LIVE at Gulf Place. The morning show broadcast will air the same morning from 5:00am to 7:00am. All witches are encouraged get up early to be seen on T.V.

13th ANNUAL WITCH RIDE  | The Green at Gulf Place

Information and final announcements will be given at 6:30am. At this time all Witches must be with their bike prepared to ride. The charity bike ride starts at 7:00am sharp where all Witches will promptly leave Gulf Place as a group.  

RESTING STOP  | Stinky’s Fish Camp and Bait Shack

The Witches ride to Stinky’s Fish Camp and Bait Shack to line up on 30A and greet spectators. Stinky’s will provide FREE water and $3.00Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and a special Witches Brew.

GATHERING BRUNCH  | La Playa at Gulf Place

The Witches ride back to Gulf Place at 8:30am to enjoy the Gathering Brunch, contests, and raffle ticket drawings on the patio at La Playa. The Gathering Brunch includes a selection of pastries, fruit, bacon and eggs accompanied with Mimosas (limited to 3) and a cash bar. $50.00 prizes will be given to the Witch with the “Best Decorated Bike”, “Best Witch Costume” and “Best Witch Cackle”. Raffle items graciously donated by local businesses.

NEW THIS YEAR:

Witches of South Walton will have online registration and payment. This will help streamline the check-in process. The online registration can be completed at www.WitchRide.com.

2015 WITCH RIDE:

Last year was remarkable; we had nearly 240 Witches participating in the event and raised over $6,200 for Children’s Volunteer Health Network.
